![]() ![]() Note about Steam cloud save: you are probably best off disabling cloud save before following this guide, to make extra sure that your changes don't somehow get overwritten by the cloud save magic. If your profile is linked to Steam (I believe that's the default these days), the location of your saves will be something like:Ĭode: Select all steam_profiles().bakįor example, here's my folder with the various backup directories for both steam and non-steam profiles: You need to locate and open the folders with your saves. In short, we're going to load up ETS2, start a new job, make a new save - and then copy over all the relevant parts from your old save to make this new job identical to the one you have lost and to set your position back to where you were. But I do think it's a good idea for everyone to read part 2, if only to understand the reasoning behind what you're doing, so you're not just randomly copy-pasting stuff between files. If you only care about fixing your save, just read part 1. I'll divide this post into two parts: 1) How to restore my old job and 2) Why this is happening. I should note that these steps will probably not work with any WoT jobs, as they are managed server-side by SCS. Usual warnings, etc: you're doing this at your own risk, blah blah, etc. ![]()
