Download divinity original sin 2 ps58/30/2023 ![]() ![]() I get why people like the challenge of this franchise but to me it just feels unfair and tedious. As a DnD fan myself I can say that it does that really well in some ways but awfully in other ways. This game really wants to capture that DnD feel. Your AI companions will stupidly walk directly into acid and other dangers which leads to you having to tediously move them individually. A build you spent hours working on can suddenly become completely useless a couple encounters later. No respawning enemies eliminate the ability to grind for more money if you made a purchasing mistake. The weapons/armor being obsolete within a level or two is annoying. The physical/magic armor system is bad imo, forcing you to shape your whole attack strategy on damaging one or the other. It makes for a game where you're saving every 10 minutes "just in case". For instance I've been team killed in an ambush before being able to move a single party member. There's many many situations where it's overly difficult to win without having prior knowledge. The end result is that everything is quite easy-to-read, which is great, because reading really is such a huge part of this game.There's a lot to like in this game but I just found it way too tedious. Luckily, Divinity: Original Sin 2 has greatly increased the size of the text, and the fonts and backgrounds are always very simple. I sit a good ten feet away from my screen, and some console games are nigh-unreadable with their font styles. I was also concerned with reading the metric fuck-ton of text present in the game. I feel like menu navigation should have also been part of that tutorial deck. To be fair, I had the same issue on PC, as I expected some sort of “next character” button on the top left and right of the menu screen. ![]() It took me a bit to feel comfortable moving from character to character when spending skill points or equipping new gear - you need to use the same radial dial that you use to swap characters when moving around the map. Selecting characters to control and menu pages to explore are mapped to radial dials, and damn if I didn’t always choose the wrong radial dial for what I wanted. ![]()
